BORN WITHOUT ONE HAND DUE TO AMNIOTIC BAND SYNDROME, ANNISTON GAGE IS REDEFINING WHAT PERFECT TRULY MEANS

Baby Anniston Gage entered the world already beautifully unique. Born with a limb difference, Anniston came into life missing one of her hands — a moment that initially filled her family with uncertainty, fear, and countless emotions.

Like many parents hearing surprising news about their child, there were moments filled with fear, questions, and uncertainty. Doctors believe the condition may have been caused by amniotic band syndrome, a rare complication during pregnancy in which thin strands inside the womb can restrict the development of a baby’s limb before birth. In some cases, it can affect the growth of fingers, hands, or arms while the baby is still developing.

But the moment Anniston was placed on her mother’s chest, everything changed.
Instead of fear, her mother felt overwhelming love.

“I wish I could go back 25 weeks and tell myself that her arm was going to be my favorite thing in the entire world,” her mom shared emotionally. “The moment she was laid on my chest, I knew we were going to be just fine. I have never loved someone or something so completely.”

Now, every smile from Anniston reminds her family that she is so much more than a diagnosis or physical difference.
In photos, the sweet baby girl lights up the room with her bright eyes and calm expression. Her family says she is already showing a strong personality and a joyful spirit that makes everyone around her fall in love instantly.

While her journey may include future adaptations and learning new ways to do everyday things, her parents believe Anniston will grow up knowing she is beautiful, capable, and deeply loved exactly as she is.

“She has already taught us what true unconditional love looks like,” her family said. “To us, she is absolutely perfect.”

Now, Anniston continues to grow, laugh, and reach milestones in her own beautiful way. Her family hopes her story helps others understand that children with limb differences are not defined by what they are missing — but by the incredible love, resilience, and joy they bring into the world.

“She is absolutely perfect to us,” her family shared. “Her limb difference is only one small part of who she is. What people notice most is her happiness, her strength, and the light she brings to everyone around her.”
