Two teenage boys have died following a devastating suspected hit-and-run collision in Newport, leaving families and the wider community in shock and grief
The victims, Ta-Shay Canoville, 16, and Jaydon Bowyer, 19, were fatally injured in the early hours of May 7 on Aberthaw Road after being struck by a motorbike that police say fled the scene.
Murder Investigation Launched
Police have confirmed a murder investigation is underway, with two men already charged in connection with the deaths. Both suspects are expected to appear in court next month as enquiries continue.

movements of the motorbike involved
the sequence of events leading up to the collision
Authorities have urged anyone with further information to come forward as the investigation remains active.

Family members and friends have described the two boys as lifelong best friends who were rarely seen apart.

Ta-Shay was remembered as a bright and joyful young person whose smile “lit up every room,” while Jaydon was described as a caring, funny young man deeply loved by his family and peers.

Flowers, candles, and handwritten messages have been left in Newport in memory of the pair as the community comes to terms with the tragedy.
