BREAKING NEWS: A Missing Toddler Stepped Onto A Cold Morning Bus Barefoot And Shaking, Leading A Sharp-Eyed Driver To Make A Quick Decision That Changed Everything
A huge part of today’s society takes the bus every day, from businessmen who commute to work to children who go to school. You could say the community rests on the shoulders of the great drivers who take us from destination to destination. To become a bus driver, you have to be cut from a certain cloth. In addition to the regular citizens you drive back and forth, you sometimes have to deal with difficult or unusual situations. Margaret had been a bus driver for ten years and thought she had been through it all, but nothing could have prepared her for what would happen during that one morning shift.

It was a route like any other. Margaret was on her usual early morning ride when she noticed something very strange at a certain bus stop. She pulled up, and once the doors opened, she saw a little boy standing on the doorstep. The child was shaking on his legs, and it was obvious he had been crying. He looked anxiously at Margaret, who motioned for him to get inside the warm vehicle. She could see that this boy needed help and reassurance, so she asked him where he was going with a voice full of pity.
As Margaret asked the question, she took a closer look at the boy. It was a cool morning and the dew was still on the grass. There was nothing unusual about the boy’s clothing, but when her eyes drifted down, she realized he was missing something alarming. The boy had no shoes or socks on; he had been standing barefoot in the cold. He seemed incredibly scared and stared down at his bare feet, biting his trembling lip.

Margaret leaned closer and placed a hand on his shoulder, whispering reassuringly to ask if she could help. Feeling safe, the boy shared his story. He explained that he had been playing in his front yard when a rabbit darted by. He ran after it out of curiosity but quickly lost the animal and realized he was trapped in a nearby forest. Confused and terrified, he wandered until he spotted the bus stop, realizing a bus would eventually show up to save him.
Margaret felt a wave of relief that the boy was safe, but a sudden realization gave her the creeps. He was miles away from home, and somewhere in the city, frantic parents were likely searching for their missing child. Knowing that time was of the essence and that something was deeply wrong, Margaret immediately picked up her radio and called 911 to report the lost, barefoot toddler.
