‘Godzilla x Kong’ Actress Kaylee Hottle Dies at 18 Following Maryland Car Crash

The entertainment industry is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kaylee Hottle, the young actress best known for portraying Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Hottle died at the age of 18 after a single-vehicle crash in Frederick County, Maryland, authorities confirmed.

According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in Ijamsville, Maryland. Investigators said the vehicle left the roadway and struck a culvert. Hottle, who was a passenger, was airlifted for emergency medical treatment but tragically died before reaching the hospital. The 19-year-old driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while another passenger declined medical treatment. Authorities believe excessive speed may have been a contributing factor, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Born into a Deaf family, Hottle became a powerful symbol of representation in Hollywood. She made her film debut as Jia, the Deaf orphan who forms a unique bond with Kong, in the 2021 blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong.
