Golfing Community Mourns 18-Year-Old Jessica Bang After Fatal Brain Hemorrhage in Thailand

Australian Golfer Jessica Bang Dies at 18 After Brain Hemorrhage in Thailand
Jessica Bang, an Australian professional golfer, has died at the age of 18 following a brain hemorrhage while in Bangkok, Thailand.
Bang reportedly collapsed on August 1, 2026, while preparing for the KLPGA Tour’s international qualifying event in Bangkok. She was rushed to a hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery.

Despite medical efforts, Bang died on August 13, 2026.
Earlier in 2026, Bang had attracted attention in the Australian golf community after winning the Ford Women’s NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event in February. Remarkably, it was only her fifth professional tournament.
She finished the final round with a score of 65, eight under par, setting a course record during the event.

The WPGA Tour of Australasia confirmed Bang’s death and expressed its condolences to her family, friends, and the wider golfing community.
Her death at just 18 has left the Australian golf community mourning a young player whose professional career was only beginning.
