The 20-year-old women were both shot at Family Scholar House and seeking careers in healthcare.

Two women, described as best friends, were killed Sunday morning near the University of Louisville at Family Scholar House.
Iyanna Warr and Trinity Durham, both 20 years old, were shot around 1:44 a.m. according to Louisville Metro Police. LMPD has not released any suspect information, saying its homicide investigation is in its “infancy stage.”

“I want justice for my daughter so bad. I want justice for her bestie so bad. I’ll put that on every bit of blood in my body,” said Wil Alford, Durham’s father. “My daughter is my life. And now? My grandbaby is my life.”
He said he doesn’t know why anyone would shoot either of the women. They met during TAPP, a Teenage Parent Program, for young expecting mothers within JCPS.

That’s when Tyria Islove met both young women. She was Warr’s case worker and mentored her through TAPP.
Warr was “ready to explore the world, and that was all cut short from her,” Islove said, adding she was shocked by the death.
“I don’t understand why. I have no idea. She’s never been in any trouble. No criminal history. She’s very bubbly. Always smiled,” Islove said.
Warr was planning a career in forensic science. Durham pursued a geriatric nursing care career.
