12-Year-Old Xavier Taylor Remains in Critical Condition After Baseball Accident

Xavier Taylor, a 12-year-old boy from Maple Shade, New Jersey, remained in critical condition after a serious baseball accident left him fighting for his life.

The incident happened on May 26, 2026, as Xavier was warming up before a game. He was struck in the back of the neck or head by a baseball, causing him to collapse.

Xavier subsequently went into cardiac arrest and was rushed by air to Cooper University Hospital, where medical teams began treating his life-threatening injuries.

Reports from May 29 through May 31 indicated that Xavier remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit and was being kept on a ventilator.

As the young athlete continues to fight for recovery, his family, teammates and members of the Maple Shade community have rallied around him. Prayer gatherings, vigils and fundraising efforts have been organized in his support, drawing hundreds of people who have come together to pray for his recovery and stand beside his family.

The accident has deeply affected the local baseball community, turning what began as an ordinary day at the ballfield into a devastating medical emergency.
