Lindsay Clancy Jury Remains Deadlocked as Defense Seeks Removal of Juror

The jury in the Lindsay Clancy case remained deadlocked on the sixth day of deliberations, notifying Judge William Sullivan that they had still been unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Following the jury’s update, defense attorney Kevin Reddington asked the judge to remove one of the jurors. Reddington alleged that the juror was refusing to follow the court’s instructions concerning the legal standard of “reasonable doubt” and argued that the individual was preventing the panel from reaching a unanimous decision.

Judge Sullivan rejected the request, emphasizing that he did not want to take sides between the juror in question and the other 11 members of the panel. Instead, he reminded the entire jury that all members were required to follow the legal instructions provided by the court.

After the judge’s decision, jurors were instructed to return to their deliberations and continue working toward a verdict.

The jury was ultimately dismissed for the day and is scheduled to resume deliberations on Friday, September 4.
