Social media megastar Jack Doherty was arrested in Florida on Friday, his second arrest in a year.

Doherty, 22, was arrested by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department on the morning of September 4 after the authorities responded to a home regarding a domestic dispute, the force told LADbible.

The FLDP arrested Doherty on a misdemeanour charge of domestic battery and took him to the Broward County Main Jail.

Upon arrival at about 11:56am at 1400 block of Southwest 5th court, officers identified Doherty as the male involved in the dispute.

The police said ‘preliminary information’ revealed Doherty and a female victim got into a ‘physical dispute’ inside a residence.

The woman was not injured in the altercation, police said, after which Doherty was arrested.

TMZ reports that a source close to the influencer claims his actions were in self-defence.

Doherty’s bond was later listed at $0.00 on Friday evening, reports Fox35 Orlando.

It’s not Doherty’s first run in with the law, as he was arrested by Miami Beach police in November 2025 outside a smoke shop.

He was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

A video of the arrest caught him arguing with officers as he was eventually put in the back of a cop car.

It’s reported that Doherty was officially charged in January 2026 with felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanour for resisting arrest without violence.

The marijuana possession charge was dropped, according to court records, and Doherty was accepted into a drug pre-trial diversion programme in March.

TMZ reports that police said Jack was carrying amphetamine, which is commonly used as a medication to treat ADHD and narcolepsy, at the time of his arrest. He is said to have been carrying less than 20 grams of weed.

Speaking to TMZ after his release, Doherty labelled it the ‘worst day of his life’ but not out of fear, but because the ordeal was ‘so mind-numbingly boring.’

He was held in a small cell alongside an officer for five hours, taken for his mugshot and fingerprints, and then held for another 10 hours in a holding room before he could finally make phone calls.

Another stint in a cell followed, during which a nap was interrupted by guards, who informed him his mugshot had already been published online, before he was released.

Doherty’s first video after getting out saw him wearing a shirt with his own mugshot emblazoned across it, and he said: “I’m about to take my first shower since getting out. Jail is so freaking dirty, I didn’t want to take a shower in there.”

He also bragged about posting his $3,500 bail as soon as it was available and getting out in less than day.

TMZ reported Doherty said he: “Plans to be good and stay outta jail from here on out.”

There were 293 days between the two arrests.

Doherty first became famous in 2017 when his videos flipping objects went viral. He now boasts more than 15 million subscribers on YouTube, where he posts prank videos, and 2.7 million followers on Instagram.
