BABY S WAS JUST A NEWBORN — THEN A COURT HEARD THE HORRIFYING NUMBER OF WOUNDS FOUND ON HER TINY BODY

She had only just entered the world.

But within hours, Baby S was dead — and prosecutors have now revealed the devastating injuries the newborn suffered in a Sheffield home.

A court heard that the little girl had 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings before her death.

The injuries were recorded across her face and torso, front and back, prosecutors said. A doctor also told the court that Baby S was alive when the attack took place.

The details emerged as four adults appeared in court accused of murdering the newborn.

And what investigators discovered afterward added another disturbing layer to the case.

HER BODY WAS HIDDEN

Police responding to concerns about the safety of an infant eventually located Baby S in an outbuilding at a property in the Wincobank area of Sheffield.

Prosecutor Luke Hopkinson told the court that the newborn had been wrapped in a towel and placed inside a blue bag, which was then left on top of a washing machine.

The four adults are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice by allegedly taking steps to conceal the killing.

A potential weapon has also been recovered and is being examined, while investigators are examining CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation.

FIVE DEFENDANTS IN COURT

Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath Jr, 19, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, are all charged with murder.

A 15-year-old girl has separately been charged with perverting the course of justice. She cannot legally be named because of her age.

All five defendants have been remanded in custody.

The case is now scheduled for a six-to-seven-week trial beginning on April 12, 2027.

The court also heard that Skopova is Baby S’s mother, while the identity of the baby’s father remains unknown.

South Yorkshire Police have urged the public not to speculate or share unverified information online, warning that the criminal proceedings must be protected.

For now, the full circumstances surrounding Baby S’s final hours remain the subject of an active investigation.
