BABY S WAS JUST A NEWBORN — NOW THE NUMBER OF WOUNDS FOUND ON HER TINY BODY HAS BEEN REVEALED IN COURT

She had only just entered the world.

But within hours, Baby S was at the center of a horrifying Sheffield investigation — and prosecutors have now revealed disturbing details about the injuries found on the newborn.

The court heard that the baby suffered 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings.

The injuries were recorded on her face and torso, both front and back.

A doctor told the court that she was alive when the attack occurred. 

THEN POLICE FOUND HER

When officers attended an address in the Wincobank area of Sheffield following concerns about the baby’s safety, Baby S was not initially found at the mother’s address.

She was later discovered in an outhouse.

Prosecutors told the court that the newborn had been wrapped in a towel, placed inside a blue bag and left on top of a washing machine.

The discovery has become one of the most disturbing details in a case that has shocked the local community. 

FOUR ADULTS FACE MURDER CHARGES

Baby S’s 20-year-old mother, Andrea Skopova, is among four adults charged with her murder.

Also charged are Peter Horvath Jr, 19, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37.

All four face additional charges relating to causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice, including allegations concerning steps taken to conceal the killing.

A 15-year-old girl has separately been charged with perverting the course of justice. She cannot legally be named because of her age. 

THE BABY HAD ONLY JUST BEEN BORN

The court was told Baby S was born at 37 weeks in the early hours of August 30.

Skopova later attended hospital, where medical staff became concerned and contacted police.

The baby’s father has not been publicly identified.

Investigators have since recovered a potential weapon and are examining CCTV footage as they continue to reconstruct what happened. 

THE CASE IS FAR FROM OVER

All five defendants have been remanded in custody.

A murder trial has been scheduled to begin on April 12, 2027, and is expected to last six to seven weeks. 

For now, the allegations remain allegations.

But one fact is already devastatingly clear:

Baby S was a newborn who suffered 33 wounds in 15 separate stabbings before her body was discovered hidden inside an outhouse.

And as prosecutors begin presenting the evidence, the courtroom will now have to determine exactly what happened to her — and who was responsible.
