44-Year-Old Father Dies Days After Plane Crash That Killed His Wife and 2 Children

A man who was critically injured in a plane crash in California that killed his wife and two children has died.
Craig Eady, of Auberry, died from his injuries in the hospital on Monday, Sept. 7, following the plane crash near the Sierra Sky Park Airport in northwest Fresno on Saturday, Sept. 5, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) confirmed on Facebook.

The 44-year-old was aboard the single-engine aircraft with his wife, Danna Eady, a certified flight instructor, and their two sons when it crashed and caught fire at around 1:50 p.m. local time, per the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Fresno firefighters and officers … arrived on the 7300 block of N. Blythe Ave. and discovered a fixed-wing single-engine airplane on fire atop the bluff of the San Joaquin River,” the FCSO said in its latest post. “Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading onto the properties of nearby homes.”

Craig and Danna, als, were transported to the hospital, where Danna later died. Their two children died at the scene, the FCSO confirmed. Authorities have not released their names to the public.
According to the SFC, Danna was a certified flight instructor for students in Reedley College’s Flight Science Department. The college has canceled its flight science classes for Tuesday, Sept. 8, and has offered counseling to students following the incident, per the outlet.

“Danna was always just up for an adventure. So, I know she is still on an adventure right now and this is … She just loved adventure,” Nick Wilcox, a friend and flight instructor, told ABC 7. “She loved flying. She died doing what she loved. She’s probably on another adventure because that’s the kind of person she was.”
