MYSTERY IN THE SKIES: FAMILY OF FOUR VANISHES WITH THEIR PRIVATE PLANE

A family is facing agonizing hours of uncertainty after a private plane carrying four relatives disappeared while traveling from the Bahamas toward South Florida.

On board were experienced pilot Mario Lamar, 80, his wife Lili Lamar, 79, and their grandchildren, Sofia Sosa, 28, and Christian Sosa, 22.

The family had been returning home after spending the Labor Day weekend at Great Harbour Cay in the Bahamas.

Their destination was Miami Executive Airport.

But somewhere over the waters near Andros Island, the flight suddenly vanished.

All four family members aboard a small plane that went missing off the Bahamas were found dead Tuesday after relatives launched their own search effort, a family member said. Open the linkCONTACT LOST OVER THE BAHAMAS

Air traffic controllers reportedly lost contact with the aircraft approximately 13 miles west of Andros Island.

Flight-tracking data indicated that the plane had been cruising at around 10,000 feet before rapidly descending to approximately 3,700 feet in just three minutes.

It then disappeared from radar.

Authorities believe the aircraft may have gone down in the waters near Red Bays, in northern Andros.

The disappearance immediately triggered a search operation involving Bahamian authorities.

Weather conditions initially made the search extremely difficult, limiting visibility and complicating efforts to locate the aircraft.

The U.S. Coast Guard later joined the operation, assisting Bahamian authorities in the search.

For the Lamar family, one detail has made the disappearance even harder to understand.

Mario Lamar was reportedly an experienced pilot who had spent more than four decades flying.

Family members have described him as highly familiar with aviation, making the sudden loss of contact especially alarming.

At the same time, authorities have not publicly established what caused the aircraft to descend or what happened during the final moments before it disappeared.

The search remains focused on locating the plane and determining what happened.

A FAMILY REFUSES TO GIVE UP HOPE

As search crews continue working across the waters around Andros, relatives and friends are desperately waiting for answers.

Family members have also appealed to boat owners and people traveling through the area to remain alert and report anything that could help investigators locate the missing aircraft.

Four people were aboard.

One private plane disappeared.

And an entire family is now waiting for the moment rescuers finally bring them answers.

For Mario, Lili, Sofia and Christian, the search continues — and their loved ones are refusing to give up hope.
