A grieving mother has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her teenage son as investigators examine whether he may have been followed shortly before he was struck in a fatal hit-and-run in Ireland.

Bryan Lowe, a 16-year-old student from County Clare, was riding an e-bike near Cloonlara when he was involved in a collision shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday, September 4.

Emergency services found Bryan unresponsive on the L3050 at Cottage Cross, near Cloonlara village.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A silver or gold-colored Skoda Octavia believed to have been involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene, prompting a major Garda investigation.

“LOVE YOU MY SON. HEARTBROKEN.”

In the days following the tragedy, Bryan’s mother, Crystal Lowe, shared a series of photographs of her son and spoke publicly about the devastating loss.

Alongside the photographs, she wrote simply:

“Love you my son. Heartbroken.”

The images showed Bryan during happier moments, including family photographs and what appeared to be Christmas morning.

His sister Chloe also paid an emotional tribute to her only brother.

She wrote that Bryan was the best uncle to her son, Thomas, and struggled with the thought of having to explain that they would never see him again.

“My one and only brother, your whole life ahead of you,” she wrote, describing the family as being left with unbearable pain.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.

A CHILLING MESSAGE BEFORE THE COLLISION

As Bryan’s family mourns, investigators are examining a disturbing detail that could become important to the case.

It has been reported that Bryan sent a message to a friend shortly before the incident saying that he believed he was being followed.

Gardaí are now investigating the circumstances surrounding that message and the events leading up to the collision.

One theory being examined is whether Bryan may have been followed by people in the vehicle because they wanted to take his e-bike.

That remains an investigative theory, however, and Gardaí have not established a motive.

The Journal has reported that investigators believe there were at least three masked people inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. Police also do not believe the car itself had been stolen.

THE SEARCH FOR THE SKODA

Gardaí have appealed to the public for information about a silver or gold Skoda Octavia, registration 05-C-5982, which was seen in the Cloonlara and Castleconnell areas around the time of the incident.

Investigators are particularly interested in anyone who may have seen the vehicle between approximately 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.

Drivers with dashcam footage, residents with CCTV or doorbell cameras, and anyone who was in the area have been urged to come forward.

Gardaí are also examining forensic evidence from the scene as they work to reconstruct what happened during the final moments of Bryan’s journey.

REMEMBERED AS A “GENTLEMAN”

Bryan was a sixth-year student at St. Munchin’s College in Limerick.

His school community has been left devastated by his sudden loss.

Deputy principal Lorraine Shiels described him as an “absolute gentleman” and spoke of his kindness and big heart.

Tributes from friends and members of the local community have also described Bryan as someone who could make people laugh and whose future had been taken away far too soon.

For his family, however, the loss is deeply personal.

His sister described him as not only her brother but also a beloved uncle whose nephews adored him.

A FAMILY WAITING FOR ANSWERS

The investigation remains ongoing.

Gardaí have not publicly established whether Bryan was deliberately followed, why the vehicle was in the area, or what happened immediately before the collision.

What is known is that a teenager left home that night riding his e-bike and never returned.

His family is now preparing to say goodbye while investigators continue searching for the people who may hold the answers.

For Bryan’s mother, the photographs and memories shared online offer glimpses of the son she loved.

For his sister, they are memories of the only brother she had.
