New toxicology findings have shed fresh light on the horrifying deaths of four young siblings whose mother and grandmother allegedly planned to poison them before dying by suicide.

The children — Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and 10-year-old twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon — were found dead inside their grandmother’s apartment in Mechanicville, New York, nearly two weeks after authorities believe they were killed.

Now, investigators have reportedly determined that all four children had diphenhydramine and kratom in their systems.

Diphenhydramine is the active ingredient in medications such as Benadryl, while kratom is a psychoactive herbal substance that can produce opioid-like effects.

A CHILLING DISCOVERY

According to reports citing new toxicology findings, the substances were detected in blood samples taken from all four children.

Police have previously alleged that their mother, Sarah Myers, 44, and grandmother, Amy Steadman, 64, conspired to poison the children on June 10.

Investigators believe the poisoning was supposed to be the first step in a plan that would end the children’s lives.

But something went wrong.

Three of the children — Harper, Hudson and Gracelynn — died after the alleged poisoning.

Gavin survived the initial attempt, investigators say.

He was then allegedly stabbed.

Police said the 10-year-old had defensive wounds, suggesting he may have fought back during the attack.

“IT’S NOT WORKING”

Investigators have previously described a series of disturbing messages and internet searches that they say reveal how the alleged plan unfolded.

According to police, Myers and Steadman planned to poison the children sometime between approximately 10:30 a.m. and noon on June 10.

When the poisoning apparently failed to have the expected effect, investigators say one of the women sent a message indicating that another option was needed.

Police also reportedly recovered searches from Steadman’s phone concerning medication reactions and the effects of insulin on people without diabetes.

Later searches allegedly became even more disturbing, including questions about where a stabbing would be most fatal and the location of a major artery in the neck.

A CHILD’S FINAL MESSAGE

Among the most heartbreaking evidence is a message investigators say was sent by Gracelynn as she was becoming seriously ill.

According to police, the child wrote:

“Why would you do that? You both won’t let me puke.”

Investigators say Steadman later messaged Myers that “Gracie is aware.”

The messages have become part of the evidence authorities are examining as they reconstruct the final hours of the children’s lives.

THE CUSTODY BATTLE

Investigators believe the alleged killings were connected to a bitter custody dispute involving the children’s father, Brady Harmon.

Harmon had been fighting for years to rebuild his relationship with his children and was reportedly preparing to spend an extended period of time with them in Utah.

Authorities say a handwritten note recovered after the killings suggested the children had been harmed in an attempt to “protect” them from their father.

However, the abuse allegations made against Harmon have not been substantiated, according to police, and he has never been charged.

Harmon has denied the allegations.

After losing all four of his children, he described the killings as an act that he could not understand.

He later laid their ashes to rest during a private funeral in Utah.

THE CHILDREN WERE NOT FOUND FOR 13 DAYS

The timeline makes the case even more disturbing.

Police believe the children were killed on June 10.

Their bodies were not discovered until June 23, when officers were called to Steadman’s apartment for a welfare check.

Myers and Steadman were also found dead at the residence.

The deaths have since been investigated as an apparent murder-suicide involving the four children.
