The 12-year-old from Maple Shade was critically injured when a baseball struck him in the neck during warmups.

What should have been an ordinary day at the ballpark suddenly became every parent’s worst nightmare.

Now, his family remains by his side, holding onto hope through an unimaginable journey.

And something beautiful has happened outside that hospital room.

Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs visited Xavier and brought him a signed bat.
