BEVERLEY CALLARD SHARES NEW HEALTH UPDATE AMID CANCER BATTLE: “IT’S NOT GREAT NEWS”

Beverley Callard has opened up about another worrying health development as she continues her cancer treatment, telling fans that doctors have discovered severe inflammation in the upper part of her stomach.

The 69-year-old former Coronation Street star shared the update in an emotional video on Instagram after undergoing further hospital tests.

Callard, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, said doctors had carried out an endoscopy and gastroscopy after she experienced persistent nausea.

While the tests found that her oesophagus was clear, doctors discovered that her upper stomach was “really, badly inflamed.”

Several biopsies were taken to investigate what was causing the inflammation.

Speaking candidly to her followers, Beverley admitted that the latest development was difficult to hear.

She said she had not yet received all of the results, explaining that some biopsy results can take considerably longer to process.

However, she was told that information would be sent to her surgeon and oncologist within around a week, allowing her medical team to assess what happens next.

“It’s not great news,” Beverley said, while also expressing some relief that doctors had found a possible explanation for the nausea that has been troubling her.

She joked that she had been worried people might think she was simply struggling unnecessarily with the symptoms.

The actress also praised the hospital staff who had been caring for her throughout the latest tests.

A DIFFICULT YEAR FOR THE ACTRESS

Beverley first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in February 2026.

Since then, she has openly documented different stages of her treatment, including surgery and radiotherapy, while continuing to work and communicate with her supporters.

In April, she revealed that cancer cells had been found in one of three lymph nodes removed during surgery. The sample was sent to the United States to assess how aggressive the cancer was.

In May, she received more encouraging news when she said doctors had told her the cancer was showing “low numbers,” allowing her to proceed with radiotherapy.

By July, Beverley announced that she had completed 10 radiotherapy sessions.

“I’ve just finished my last radiotherapy session, fingers crossed,” she told fans at the time.

But her latest hospital visit has brought another period of uncertainty as doctors investigate the severe stomach inflammation.

Despite the latest setback, Beverley tried to reassure her followers that she was coping.

She admitted she was frustrated and tired of the ongoing medical appointments but said she wanted to get back to normal life.

“I’m OK, I’m a bit fed up about it,” she said in her latest update, explaining that she hoped to have more answers soon.

The actress has continued to receive messages of support from fans throughout her cancer journey.

Known to millions for playing Liz McDonald in Coronation Street, Callard has also recently appeared in Fair City and I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.

For now, she is waiting for the biopsy results and further advice from her medical team.

The latest results do not establish that her cancer has worsened. They show that doctors have found significant inflammation in her upper stomach and are investigating the cause.

For Beverley, the waiting continues — but she has made clear that she intends to keep moving forward and keep her supporters updated as she learns more.
