PRESTON EL GUINDY, 6, KILLED IN DEVASTATING DRIVEWAY ACCIDENT AS FATHER BACKED CYBERTRUCK OUT OF HOME

A six-year-old California boy with his whole life ahead of him has died after being accidentally struck by a Tesla Cybertruck driven by his father outside their family home.

Preston El Guindy was fatally injured shortly after 9 p.m. on September 19 near Temecula, California, according to the California Highway Patrol and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

The tragedy happened as Preston’s father, 48-year-old Tarik El Guindy, was backing the Cybertruck out of the family driveway.

A TRAGIC ACCIDENT OUTSIDE THE FAMILY HOME

According to investigators, the Cybertruck struck Preston as it was being reversed from the driveway on Brookhaven Court.

Tarik immediately called 911 for help.

Emergency crews arrived within minutes and found Preston suffering from critical injuries. The boy was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s report.

The official report lists the time of injury as 9:06 p.m. and confirms that Preston died later that evening at the hospital.

CHP SAYS THE INCIDENT APPEARS TO BE AN ACCIDENT

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

CHP spokesperson Officer Jesus Garcia told the Los Angeles Times that, based on the information available so far, investigators believe the incident was an accident and have found no indication of foul play.

The Cybertruck was not operating in Autopilot mode at the time of the incident, according to the CHP report.

Investigators are reviewing available vehicle video and other evidence as they work to establish exactly what happened in the moments before the collision.

Authorities have also reported no indication that Tarik was intoxicated.

While investigators work to understand the circumstances, Preston’s family is facing the unimaginable loss of a young son and brother.

A GoFundMe campaign established for the family described Preston as a child who was always smiling and brought happiness to the people around him.

“His parents and sister, Scarlett, are left with the insurmountable tragedy that is losing their son and brother,” the fundraiser said.

The campaign described Preston as a beloved child whose presence brought joy to his family and community.

A LITTLE BOY REMEMBERED FOR HIS JOY

Reports say Preston loved playing baseball, and his father had previously shared videos of his son enjoying the sport.

His family is now left with memories of a six-year-old boy whose life was cut tragically short.
