SIX-YEAR-OLD PRESTON EL GUINDY DIES AFTER FATHER ACCIDENTALLY HITS HIM WITH CYBERTRUCK

A California family is facing unimaginable grief after six-year-old Preston El Guindy was struck and killed by his father while the man was backing a Tesla Cybertruck out of their driveway near Temecula.

The heartbreaking incident happened on the evening of September 19, 2026, outside the family’s home on Brookhaven Court.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Preston was seriously injured after being struck by the vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. He was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m.

A TRAGIC ACCIDENT OUTSIDE THE FAMILY HOME

Preston’s father, 48-year-old Tarik El Guindy, was reversing the Cybertruck from the family driveway when the collision occurred.

CHP Officer Jesus Garcia told the Los Angeles Times that the information available to investigators was “100% pointing to an accident” and that there was no indication of foul play at that stage.

The investigation nevertheless remains active, with officers reviewing video from the Cybertruck and other available evidence.

Authorities have also confirmed that the Cybertruck was not operating in Autopilot mode at the time of the incident.

PRESTON’S FINAL HOURS

According to a fundraising page established for the family, Preston had been playing outside in his neighborhood before he was accidentally struck.

His father immediately called 911 after the collision.

Emergency crews arrived and the boy was taken to hospital, but his injuries proved fatal.

The official Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner record lists Preston’s date of injury and death as September 19, with the time of death recorded as 9:41 p.m.

The family has described Preston as a joyful child who brought happiness to the people around him.

A GoFundMe created to help with funeral expenses said Preston was “always with a smile on his face” and described the loss as an unimaginable tragedy for his parents and his sister, Scarlett.

The fundraising page also shared memories of Preston playing baseball, offering a glimpse into the six-year-old’s life beyond the devastating circumstances of his death.

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has listed the California Highway Patrol’s Temecula office as the investigating agency.

At the latest update, authorities had not announced criminal charges against Preston’s father in connection with the incident.

CHP continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including available vehicle video and other evidence.

For the family, however, the investigation comes alongside a far more personal reality: the sudden loss of a six-year-old boy whose life ended just outside his own home.
