FOUR-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES IN TRAGIC TRACTOR ACCIDENT — FAMILY FORCED TO WAIT 45 MINUTES FOR HELP

Hellayna Michelle King was just weeks away from her fifth birthday when a sudden accident on her family’s farm changed everything.

A Kentucky family is mourning the loss of their four-year-old daughter after a tragic farm accident left them waiting nearly 45 minutes for emergency help.

Hellayna Michelle King, affectionately known as “Layna,” was riding on an attachment at the back of her family’s tractor on September 2 when the vehicle suddenly stopped.

According to Clark County Coroner Neal Oliver, the sudden movement caused the little girl to fall from the tractor. The vehicle then backed over her.

The accident happened on Red River Road in Kentucky, according to reports from local media and national outlets.

A DESPERATE WAIT FOR HELP

After the accident, Hellayna’s family immediately called for emergency assistance.

But a nearby bridge closure prevented responders from reaching the rural property as quickly as they otherwise might have.

The family was left beside the severely injured child for almost 45 minutes before emergency crews arrived.

Her aunt, LaDonna Lovings, described the wait as an unbearable experience for the family.

“They had to sit there 45 minutes with her,” Lovings told WKYT, describing the incident as a devastating loss.

Lovings said there was no way to know whether a faster response would have changed the outcome.

But she said the delay meant the family had to endure an agonizing period watching the little girl suffer while waiting for help.

SHE WAS JUST ONE MONTH FROM TURNING FIVE

Hellayna died on September 2, just weeks before her fifth birthday.

She was due to celebrate her birthday on October 5.

Her family remembered her as a bright, energetic child who loved being outdoors and spending time on the farm.

The farm was described as a special place for Layna, where she particularly loved visiting the cows.

She also loved singing.

Her obituary described a little girl who filled the family’s days with happiness and energy — whether she was playing outside, helping on the farm or singing one of her favorite songs.

‘WE HAVE LOST OUR WORLD’

Hellayna leaves behind her parents and three siblings.

Her mother, Rebecca Lovings, has since shared an emotional message about the devastating loss.

“We have lost our world and don’t know how to carry on with our lives,” she wrote in a GoFundMe campaign created to help the family.

The fundraiser is also helping with funeral-related expenses, including the cost of an urn for their daughter.

The family’s grief has been compounded by the circumstances surrounding the accident — a normal day on a family farm that suddenly became a nightmare.

A LIFE REMEMBERED FOR JOY
