MUM AND THREE CHILDREN KILLED IN DEVASTATING HOUSE FIRE AS FAMILY PAYS HEARTBREAKING TRIBUTE

A mother and her three children have died after a devastating house fire tore through their family home in Bootle, Merseyside, in the early hours of the morning.

Elisha Brabin, 36, and her children Leo Brabin, 16, Ellis Brabin, eight, and Prudence Brabin, seven, were killed in the blaze at a semi-detached property on Stone Square on Tuesday, September 22.

Their deaths were confirmed by Merseyside Police after firefighters discovered four people in an upstairs bedroom during their search of the badly damaged home.

FIRE SPREAD RAPIDLY THROUGH THE HOME

Emergency services were called to the property at around 3:38 a.m.

Six fire engines were eventually deployed to the scene, with firefighters arriving minutes after the initial emergency call.

Crews found the house “well alight” and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to search for anyone trapped inside while tackling the flames.

Chief Fire Officer Nick Searle described the blaze as an “intense fire” that had spread very rapidly.

During the search, firefighters discovered four casualties in an upstairs bedroom.

Two members of the North West Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team were sent into the property and tragically confirmed that all four had died.

A fifth person was found outside the house when firefighters arrived and was taken to hospital suffering from burns.

FAMILY’S HEARTBREAKING TRIBUTE

After the identities of the victims were released, relatives issued an emotional statement describing the devastating impact of losing four members of their family at once.

“Our whole family is devastated by the loss of Elisha, Leo, Ellis and Prudence,” they said.

They described Elisha as a “devoted and loving mother who lived for her children,” adding that her children were her whole world.

The family also remembered Leo, Ellis and Prudence as children who brought enormous happiness to those around them.

“Our beautiful babies, Leo, Ellis and Prudence, were loved beyond measure and brought so much joy, happiness and love to our family,” the statement said.

“They filled our lives with laughter and precious memories that we will cherish forever.”

The family said the loss had left them “heartbroken” and that its impact would be felt forever.

They have asked for privacy while they grieve and thanked members of the public for their kindness and support.

NEIGHBOURS TRIED TO HELP

The tragedy deeply affected residents of Stone Square.

One neighbour, Loti Nambombe, told the BBC that people in the community attempted to help after hearing what was happening.

He said several people tried to reach the property, with some attempting to get ladders or break windows to rescue those inside.

Another neighbour described hearing shouting during the early hours before realizing that emergency crews had arrived.

The street was subsequently cordoned off as firefighters and police continued their work at the scene.

Flowers, candles, balloons, soft toys and cards were later placed near the police cordon.

One message left at the scene read: “God bless you all. Heartbroken to hear about the devastating fire.”

INVESTIGATION INTO CAUSE CONTINUES

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police have launched a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Authorities have not yet publicly established what caused the blaze.

Fire service officials said their immediate priority was to support those affected while working with police and other relevant agencies to determine how the fire started and why it spread so quickly.

The deaths have left the Bootle community mourning a mother and three children whose lives were cut short in the devastating early-morning fire.

For their family, the tragedy is now defined not only by the sudden loss of Elisha, Leo, Ellis and Prudence, but also by the memories they leave behind.
