“A MOTHER SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PLAN HER CHILD’S FUNERAL” — HEARTBREAKING NEW UPDATE IN MIYA DEAMER-JONES CASE

“A MOTHER SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PLAN HER CHILD’S FUNERAL” — HEARTBREAKING NEW UPDATE IN MIYA DEAMER-JONES CASE
An entire community is mourning an 11-year-old girl as her devastated family faces an unimaginable loss. Now, friends are asking the public to help give Miya the farewell she deserves.
The heartbreaking story of Miya Deamer-Jones has taken another emotional turn, as a fundraiser has been launched to help her family cover funeral costs and provide a lasting memorial for the little girl.
Miya, 11, was found dead near Elmley Castle Cricket Club in Worcestershire, England, after she was reported missing on Sunday, October 4.
According to reports, Miya had been playing with a friend outside her family home earlier that evening. When she did not return, her mother, Katie Jones, began searching for her with friends before contacting police late that night.
Her loss has left her mother and three sisters facing a future without the youngest member of their family.
“SHE WAS DEEPLY LOVED”
Rebecca Lippitt, a childhood friend of Katie’s who organised the fundraiser, described Miya as a precious little girl whose place in the family could never be filled.
The appeal aims to ease the financial burden of arranging a funeral and creating a gravestone where her mother and sisters can visit and remember her.
The family’s grief is especially painful given that Miya’s father died around three years ago. Now, those who care about Katie and her children are rallying around them during a time no family should have to endure.
POLICE SHARE AN IMPORTANT UPDATE
West Mercia Police confirmed on October 7 that extensive enquiries had found no evidence of suspicious circumstances or third-party involvement in Miya’s death.
The case is not being treated as a criminal investigation. Police said a file would be prepared for the coroner to consider the circumstances in due course.
Officers have also urged people to avoid speculation and the spread of unverified claims, warning that this could cause further distress to a grieving family.
As tributes continue, the focus is turning toward remembering Miya and supporting those left behind.
For her family, no fundraiser can replace the child they have lost. But the kindness of friends, neighbours and strangers may help them give their beloved daughter and sister a meaningful farewell.
