The Secret Beneath Blackwood Ranch
Daniel grabbed his father’s old rifle and carried the baby toward the cellar.

Before hiding her, he noticed something sewn into her blanket.

A small silver necklace.

Inside its heart-shaped pendant was a photograph of Emily holding a newborn baby.

On the back were four words:

“Your daughter. Her granddaughter.”

Daniel staggered backward.

Fifteen years ago, Emily had been pregnant when she disappeared.

He had never known.

Now the truth began to unfold.

Emily had given birth to their daughter, Sarah, while being held captive by the wealthy Blackwood family. Years later, Sarah escaped, but recently vanished after giving birth to this little girl.

Daniel was staring at his own granddaughter.

A violent pounding shook the front door.

“Open up, Carter!” Sheriff Miller shouted.

Daniel stepped onto the porch, keeping the baby hidden.

“Where’s the child?” Miller demanded.

“What child?”

The sheriff smiled coldly.

“Don’t make the same mistake Emily made.”

Daniel raised his eyes.

“What did you do to her?”

Before Miller could answer, a gunshot echoed from the darkness.

One deputy collapsed.

A woman’s voice screamed from behind the trucks.

“DANIEL! DON’T GIVE HIM THE BABY!”

Daniel froze.

He knew that voice.

After fifteen years, Emily was standing in front of him.

But her next words were even more terrifying.

“Daniel, Sarah is still alive. And she’s buried beneath Blackwood Ranch!”
