TWO RARE HEART DEFECTS — TETRALOGY OF FALLOT & DOUBLE OUTLET RIGHT VENTRICLE — PUSHED NOAH INTO A 197-DAY FIGHT, AND HE’S STILL SHINING STRONG

What began as a routine pregnancy quickly turned into a life-changing journey for one family — a journey filled with uncertainty, resilience, and unwavering love.

At just 16 weeks pregnant, Noah’s parents were told that something wasn’t right. That moment marked the beginning of countless high-risk appointments and visits to specialized medical centers. Soon after, doctors confirmed that Noah had Tetralogy of Fallot and Double Outlet Right Ventricle, two complex congenital heart conditions that would require advanced care from the moment he was born.

Faced with difficult decisions, the family chose to plan Noah’s delivery more than three hours away at Vanderbilt, ensuring he would have immediate access to the specialized treatment he needed. Looking back, they say it was one of the most important decisions they made.

From the moment Noah entered the world, his fight began.

He was admitted straight into intensive care, where he would spend an incredible 197 days in the NICU and PCICU. During that time, Noah underwent numerous medical procedures, including two brain surgeries and three heart catheterizations. Each day brought new challenges, but also small victories that kept hope alive.

“It was the hardest time of our lives,” his family shared. “There were moments we didn’t know what the next hour would look like, but we held onto every bit of hope we had.”

Due to complications, Noah’s planned heart repair had to be delayed. Eventually, he was able to go home — a moment his family had long dreamed of. For three precious months, they focused on what mattered most: being together, holding him close, and cherishing every smile.

“We didn’t take a single day for granted,” they said. “Just being home as a family felt like a miracle.”

At 11 months old, Noah finally underwent his open-heart surgery — a major milestone in his long journey. Today, he is recovering, growing stronger, and continuing to surprise everyone around him with his resilience.

“He amazes us every single day,” his family shared. “Noah has been through more than most people could ever imagine, but he keeps fighting with the sweetest spirit.”

Despite everything he has endured, Noah’s light shines brightly.

“It’s impossible to know Noah and not love him,” they said.
