BORN WITHOUT LOWER LIMBS, ABU ONCE WATCHED LIFE FROM THE DOORWAY — TODAY, HE’S TAKING HIS FIRST STEPS TOWARD IT

Born into a poor family, little Abu Al-Hassan came into the world facing challenges no child should ever have to endure.

Abu was born without lower limbs, leaving his tiny body severely disabled from birth. While other children learned to crawl and walk, Abu could only sit and watch the world move around him. The condition placed enormous emotional and financial pressure on his family, and not long after he was born, his mother left.

Since then, his father has raised him alone.

Despite the hardship, Abu never lost his gentle spirit. Neighbors often saw him sitting near the doorway of their modest home, quietly watching the village children run and play together. Sometimes he laughed with them, sometimes he simply observed in silence, wishing he could join them freely.

Yet even with his physical condition, Abu remained determined to live like other children.

He developed a deep love for drawing and spent hours creating sketches to escape the difficulties surrounding him. He also worked hard at school and rarely missed his homework, refusing to let his disability stop his education.

“Abu always tells me he wants to learn and make me proud,” his father shared emotionally. “Even though he suffers physically, he still smiles every day.”

Over time, hope finally began to enter their lives.

Through continuous support from caring people and the dedicated efforts of the Bayotek Center under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Wal-Kader, Abu was accepted into a rehabilitation and mobility training program.

For the young boy, the journey was exhausting.

Without lower limbs, every movement required intense training, balance, and patience. But Abu refused to give up. Session after session, he pushed himself beyond the pain and exhaustion, determined to stand on his own.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

With ongoing therapy, monitoring, and support, Abu Al-Hassan finally took his very first steps.

“They may seem like small steps to others,” a family member said, “but for us, they were a miracle we had dreamed about for years.”

For the first time in his life, the little boy who once sat at the doorway watching other children play was finally able to move toward them himself.
