Parents of Seven, Including Quintuplets, Built a Life of Love and Resilience After Heartbreaking Losses and an Extraordinary Pregnancy Journey
For Chad and Amy Kempel, family life is loud, busy, exhausting, and filled with more love than they ever imagined. The Idaho couple are raising seven children, including quintuplets, and every day brings a new wave of meals, school routines, laundry, noise, laughter, and nonstop movement.

But behind their joyful home is a story marked by heartbreak and courage.
Chad and Amy met as teenagers and always dreamed of having a large family. After they married, they struggled for years to become parents. Fertility treatments finally brought hope when Amy became pregnant with twin boys, Marshall and Spencer. But the babies were born extremely premature and lived only briefly.
The loss changed them forever, but it did not end their dream.
Later, they welcomed two daughters, Savannah and Avery. Then, when they decided to try for one more child, an ultrasound revealed something no one expected: five heartbeats.
Amy was pregnant with quintuplets.
The pregnancy was filled with risk, fear, and constant medical monitoring. Every week felt like a victory. At 27 weeks and 3 days, Lincoln, Noelle, Grayson, Preston, and Gabriella were born, each tiny and fragile. After weeks in intensive care, all five survived and came home.
Suddenly, Chad and Amy were caring for seven children under the age of four.

Their life required teamwork, sacrifice, and endless patience. They eventually moved to Idaho for a more affordable life, built strict routines, and learned to manage a household overflowing with energy.
Today, their home is still chaotic, but it is also full of gratitude. After loss, fear, and years of uncertainty, Chad and Amy see their children as the greatest gift of their lives.
Their journey was never easy, but for them, every step was worth it.
