Former NFL Player Stedman Bailey Arrested in Florida Following Public Sex Incident: Police
Former NFL player Stedman Bailey is facing a misdemeanor charge after police alleged he engaged in sexual activity inside an arcade and entertainment venue at a Florida mall.Bailey, 35, was arrested on July 27 and charged with one count of exposure of sexual organs, according to an arrest report from the Pembroke Pines Police Department obtained by PEOPLE. A woman identified by police as Karina Manderson was also arrested.
The incident unfolded inside the Round1 arcade at Pembroke Lakes Mall, where Bailey and Manderson had already been detained by the time responding officers arrived, according to the arrest report.

Police said surveillance footage provided by the venue’s manager allegedly showed the pair engaged in sexual activity while other patrons were nearby.
A witness told investigators she observed the alleged incident and asked the pair to stop. She claimed Bailey then pulled up his pants before he and Manderson slowly walked away from the bar area. The witness later signed an affidavit and provided a sworn recorded statement, according to the arrest report.
Bailey told investigators that he and Manderson had both lowered their pants but denied that intercourse occurred. He said his actions were the result of intoxication, the report alleged.

Police said Bailey also told investigators that neither he nor Manderson drank alcohol before arriving at Round1 and that all of the alcohol they consumed was served at the establishment. Bailey allegedly estimated they each had approximately two to three shots, according to the report.
The report alleges that Manderson told investigators she did not remember the incident and admitted she had consumed too much alcohol, according to the arrest report. Police said there was no evidence that the drinks had been tampered with.

Both Bailey and Manderson were then transported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail without incident, according to the report.
TMZ was first to report Bailey’s arrest.
Manderson’s attorney, Evan Hoffman, addressed the arrest in a statement provided to NBC Miami.

“My office is exploring the events and the legality of the case. It is premature to expand on the facts or exclude any potential defenses that may be available. This is a very personal situation that should be treated with care,” the statement read. “We ask that my client’s privacy be respected and that no fixed opinions or judgments be made at this time.”
The arrest comes more than a decade after Bailey’s football career was cut short by a 2015 shooting that left him with life-threatening head injuries. The former wide receiver was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Looking back on the shooting during a 2021 interview with PEOPLE, Bailey said he considers himself fortunate to have survived.
“I’m a walking miracle and I don’t take that for granted at all,” he said at the time. “So, I want to continue to share my story and shed light on what happened to me.”
