Lindsay Clancy’s Phone Search History Revealed by Detective, Including Alarming Question About ‘a Sociopath’
Days before Lindsay Clancy fatally strangled her children, a Google search asking “can you treat a sociopath” was made from her phone, according to testimony.Clancy is charged with murder in the Jan. 2023 deaths of her three young children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan — and her trial is in its third week.On Thursday, Aug. 13, Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Timothy Chiappini, who was tasked with extracting data from Clancy’s phone, took the witness stand, having been called by the prosecution.
During his testimony, which was streamed by the Associated Press, Chiappini read contents from Clancy’s phone, including search history, text messages and notes.

The “sociopath” search read by Chiappini was made on Jan. 20, 2023, just four days before the children were killed.
Chiappini also read aloud notes found on the phone referencing Clancy’s struggles and seeming personal affirmations.
Jurors also heard a text exchange between Clancy and her then-husband, Patrick, about ordering takeout on the day the children were fatally strangled.

During cross-examination, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, asked Chiappini about the large volume of data pulled from her phone and if he recalled looking for searches related to suicide.
Chiappini said he did not recall.
Chiappini also referenced a search from Clancy’s phone about “hallucinations” days before the killings.

Clancy does not deny killing the children, but her defense claims she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and that she was overmedicated.
The closely watched trial is being held in Plymouth County Superior Court in Plymouth, Mass.
After using exercise bands to strangle the three children, Clancy jumped out of a second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt.
