Telemundo Executive José Alberto Suárez Among 7 Killed in Kenya Helicopter Crash
José Alberto Suárez, 55, a senior executive at Telemundo, was among seven people killed when a helicopter crashed in Samburu County, Kenya, on August 19, 2026.
All seven people aboard the helicopter died in the crash. While initial reports indicated that four Americans were among the victims, updated information reported by the Associated Press and other sources indicates that five of the seven people killed were U.S. citizens.

Suárez was a longtime television executive who previously served as president and general manager of Telemundo stations in Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers–Naples.
His death has drawn attention within the Spanish-language television community, where he was known for his leadership at several major Telemundo stations.

Kenyan authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The cause has not yet been determined, and officials are expected to examine the aircraft, weather conditions, flight path, and other factors as part of the investigation.
The identities and nationalities of all seven victims are being confirmed as authorities continue their work at the crash site.
