Former Sugarpop Member Vanessa Blanca Dies at 30 After Tragic Fall

Vanessa Blanca, a former member of the children’s music group Sugarpop, died on August 19, 2026, at the age of 30.

Blanca was known for providing the female vocals on the song “DOTA O Ako,” which she performed alongside Aikee.

According to information from her family reported by GMA News, Vanessa suffered a serious accident at her apartment in Manila. Her family said she slipped and fell while changing clothes in the bathroom.

The fall caused her to strike her face and head against the floor, resulting in severe brain trauma and an intracranial hemorrhage.

Despite medical efforts, Vanessa died from the injuries on August 19.

Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief from family, friends, and those who remembered her from her years as part of Sugarpop and the Philippine children’s music scene.

She was just 30 years old.
