Canadian mom tattoos a keyboard on her arm so her non-speaking autistic son can communicate when his device fails

Canadian Mom Gets Keyboard Tattoo to Help Her Autistic Son Communicate
Jessica Fletcher, a mother from Canada, has found a deeply personal way to support her 11-year-old son, Hunter, who is autistic and non-speaking.

Hunter uses an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) device to communicate. But during a family outing to eat, the device reportedly ran out of battery or stopped working, leaving him without his usual way to express himself.
Thinking of another solution, Hunter drew a keyboard on a piece of paper and used it to point to letters so he could communicate.
The experience inspired Jessica to take an extraordinary step: she had a keyboard tattooed on her forearm so Hunter would always have a backup communication method with him.

The tattoo includes letters, symbols, and even an “I Love You” button.
Hunter can now communicate by touching the individual keys on his mother’s arm to spell out words and express what he wants to say.
For Jessica, the tattoo is more than body art—it is a permanent reminder that she will always find a way to help her son have a voice.
