ANGELICA BROPHY STILL MISSING — FAMILY REFUSES TO STOP SEARCHING PALOMAR MOUNTAIN

More than six weeks after Angelica Brophy disappeared, her family is still searching for answers.

The 44-year-old Oceanside mother and emergency-room nurse was last seen on July 6, after surveillance footage captured her at Harrah’s Resort Southern California.

Later that afternoon, she drove toward Palomar Mountain State Park.

Three days later, her vehicle was found inside the park.

But Angelica was nowhere to be found.

THEN CAME A DISTURBING DISCOVERY

On August 12, a volunteer Search and Rescue team searching the wider area discovered human remains near South Grade Road in Pauma Valley.

For a moment, the discovery raised the possibility that investigators had finally found a major clue in Angelica’s disappearance.

But authorities quickly made one thing clear:

THE REMAINS ARE NOT BELIEVED TO BE ANGELICA.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the identity and circumstances surrounding those remains separately.

For Angelica’s family, however, the discovery brought no resolution.

She is still missing.

AND HER FAMILY IS STILL LOOKING

Although coordinated ground searches by authorities were suspended earlier in the investigation, detectives have continued following leads.

Angelica’s family and volunteers have also continued searching areas around Palomar Mountain.

Another off-trail search is planned for August 22, with volunteers expected to concentrate on areas between Myer’s Fire Road and French Valley Trail.

Her family is refusing to let the case disappear from public attention.

HER CAR WAS FOUND.

HUMAN REMAINS WERE FOUND NEAR THE SEARCH AREA.

BUT ANGELICA STILL HAS NOT BEEN FOUND.

And until investigators determine what happened to her, one question continues to haunt everyone involved:

Authorities continue asking anyone who may have information about her disappearance to come forward.
