Caleb Flynn Murder Trial Will Stay Put After Judge Rejects Request for Change of Venue

Judge Denies Change of Venue Request in Caleb Flynn Murder Case

A judge has denied a defense request to move the murder trial of Caleb Flynn, 40, out of Miami County, Ohio, for now.

Flynn is accused of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn, at their home in Tipp City in February 2026. He has pleaded not guilty to the allegations.

Flynn’s attorney sought a change of venue, arguing that extensive media coverage and social media discussion surrounding the case could make it difficult to select an impartial jury in Miami County.

On August 25, 2026, Judge Jeannine Pratt denied the motion at this stage. The court plans to first attempt to select a jury in Miami County through the voir dire process.

If attorneys and the court determine that an impartial jury cannot be seated locally, the defense could ask the judge to reconsider the change-of-venue request.

For now, the case will remain in Miami County as preparations for the trial continue. Flynn remains presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in court.
