FAMILY DEMANDS ANSWERS AFTER NEW YORK GRANDMOTHER DISAPPEARS IN LAS VEGAS — THEN IS FOUND NEAR THE AIRPORT

ALISA GOODS, 63, TRAVELED TO LAS VEGAS TO VISIT A FRIEND. TWELVE DAYS LATER, HER FAMILY RECEIVED THE NEWS THEY HAD BEEN DREADING.

A New York family is demanding answers after 63-year-old grandmother Alisa Goods disappeared during a trip to Las Vegas and was found nearly two weeks later near Harry Reid International Airport.

Goods had traveled to Las Vegas in early August to visit a friend, a trip she had reportedly made several times before. According to her family, there was nothing unusual about the visit.

Then, on Aug. 8, everything changed.

How missing NYC grandma Alisa Goods was found dead in Las Vegas ditchSHE LEFT TO PICK UP A PRESCRIPTION — AND NEVER CAME BACK

Goods’ friend told the family that she had taken a bus to a nearby CVS to pick up a prescription.

She never returned.

Her family reported her missing the following day.

Her daughter, Kristen Goods, said her mother would not normally disappear without contacting her family.

“Every indication was that she was going to the pharmacy and coming right back,” Kristen told FOX5 Las Vegas.

As the days passed, the family became increasingly alarmed.

Then came another disturbing development.

Alisa Goods was found dead near Harry Reid International Airport after going missing in Las Vegas.STRANGE MESSAGES RAISED QUESTIONS

Family members said they began receiving unusual messages from Alisa’s phone asking for gas money.

The messages immediately raised concerns because Alisa and the friend she was visiting did not drive.

Kristen eventually flew from New York to Las Vegas herself.

She posted flyers, searched for her mother and appealed to the public for information, still hoping that Alisa would be found safe.

The family held onto that hope for nearly two weeks.

Then came the phone call no family wants to receive.

HER BODY WAS FOUND NEAR THE AIRPORT

Twelve days after Alisa disappeared, police notified her family that she had been found.

Her body was discovered roughly two miles from the CVS where she was last seen, near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid International Airport.

Police told the family that surveillance footage showed Alisa entering the area on Aug. 8.

According to the account described by investigators, she fell down an embankment, managed to get back up and later collapsed.

The surveillance video itself has not been publicly released.

For her daughter, however, the explanation has left unanswered questions.

“THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE”

Kristen has questioned how her mother could have ended up in the area, particularly given Alisa’s medical history.

She said the family wants to see the surveillance footage and understand exactly what happened during the final hours of her mother’s life.

Another report said footage appeared to show Alisa struggling in the extreme Las Vegas heat before eventually collapsing. Her family has continued to question why she would have been walking alone in those conditions.

At this point, there is no public evidence establishing that another person caused Alisa’s death.

Her exact cause of death remains pending an autopsy, according to reports.

A FAMILY STILL SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS

For Kristen and the rest of Alisa’s family, the case has now shifted from a desperate search for a missing mother and grandmother to a painful effort to understand what happened to her.

They want investigators to examine every available piece of evidence, including surveillance footage and the unusual messages sent from Alisa’s phone.

The family had traveled across the country hoping for a miracle.

Instead, they were left with a devastating question:

How did a 63-year-old grandmother who left to pick up a prescription end up alone near a Las Vegas airport nearly two weeks later?

Until investigators determine exactly what happened, that question remains unanswered.
