BABY S WAS JUST A NEWBORN WHEN HER LIFE ENDED IN SHEFFIELD — AND THE NUMBER OF INJURIES FOUND ON HER TINY BODY HAS NOW BEEN REVEALED IN COURT

Baby S had only just entered the world when her life ended in a Sheffield home.

Now, prosecutors have revealed one of the most disturbing details of the case: the newborn suffered 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings, with injuries recorded to her face and torso, both front and back. A doctor told the court she was alive when the attack took place.

But the shocking allegations did not end there.

When police eventually located the newborn, she was not found inside the main property. Prosecutors told the court that Baby S had been wrapped in a towel and placed inside a blue bag before being found on top of a washing machine in an outhouse at Holywell Heights, Sheffield.

FOUR ADULTS NOW FACE MURDER CHARGES

Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath Jr, 19, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, have all been charged with murder.

They also face charges of causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice by allegedly taking steps to conceal the killing.

All four are Slovakian nationals and remain in custody.

A 15-year-old girl, who cannot legally be named, has separately been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of murder but remain on bail while the investigation continues.

BABY S WAS BORN JUST HOURS BEFORE POLICE WERE CALLED

The court heard that Baby S was born in the early hours of Sunday, August 30, at an address in Sheffield.

She was reportedly born at 37 weeks.

Her mother, Andrea Skopova, later attended hospital, where medical staff became concerned and alerted police shortly after 5 a.m.

Officers went to the relevant address but Baby S was not there.

She was eventually located at another property in Holywell Heights.

A forensic post-mortem later established that the newborn’s cause of death was stab wounds.

THE COURT HEARD HOW THE BABY WAS FOUND

The discovery has become one of the most disturbing elements of the case.

Prosecutor Luke Hopkinson told the court that officers found the newborn wrapped in towelling and inside a blue bag, positioned on top of a washing machine in an outhouse.

The prosecution alleges that steps were subsequently taken to conceal what had happened.

A potential weapon has been recovered and is being examined, while police have also obtained CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

A TRIAL HAS NOW BEEN SET

The four adults are due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court from April 12, 2027.

The trial is expected to last between six and seven weeks.

All five defendants, including the teenage girl, have been remanded in custody, with the next hearing scheduled for October 2.

The case remains active, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

South Yorkshire Police have urged the public not to speculate or share information online that could interfere with the legal process.

For now, the full circumstances surrounding Baby S’s final hours remain before the courts.

But one heartbreaking fact has already emerged from the evidence:
