MISSING MAN ARIEL SIMON FOUND SAFE AFTER FIVE-DAY SEARCH IN AUSTRALIAN RAINFOREST
A 31-year-old man who vanished after walking into dense bushland in Queensland has finally been found safe — bringing an emotional end to a five-day search that had raised serious concerns for his wellbeing.
Ariel Simon was reported missing after he was seen entering bushland near Cape Tribulation Road in the Cow Bay area at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 7.
He did not return.
As the hours turned into days, police and his family became increasingly concerned because his disappearance was described as out of character.
A MAJOR SEARCH WAS LAUNCHED
Queensland authorities quickly launched a large search-and-rescue operation.
Police officers, State Emergency Service volunteers and specialist search teams were involved, while aerial resources — including the Rescue 510 helicopter and POLAIR — were used to search the surrounding wilderness.
The terrain presented a major challenge, with dense bushland covering large areas around the Daintree.
Simon was described as approximately 6-foot-11 tall, with a slim build and long blonde hair.
Authorities appealed to the public for information as the search continued into its fourth day.
THEN CAME THE BREAKTHROUGH
After five days of searching, Queensland Police confirmed on Friday that Ariel Simon had been located safe and well.
But the discovery came in an unexpected way.
According to local reports, Simon was found by two members of the public on a walking track near Baileys Creek in Cow Bay.
He was not located by the emergency crews conducting the extensive search.
The news immediately brought relief after days of uncertainty surrounding his disappearance.
WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?
Despite confirming that Simon had been found safe, police have chosen not to disclose where exactly he had been or what happened during the five days he was missing.
Authorities have also not provided further details about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
For now, the most important update is that the search has ended with Simon alive and safe.
Police thanked the media and members of the local community who helped spread the appeal and support the search effort.
A SEARCH THAT ENDED WITH RELIEF
For five days, the Daintree bushland had been the center of a major search operation.
Then came the phone call everyone had been hoping for:
Ariel Simon had been found.
The questions surrounding his disappearance may remain unanswered for now — but his safe return has brought a huge sense of relief to those who feared the worst.
