TWO CYCLISTS KILLED IN HORROR CRASH — FAMILIES PAY HEARTBREAKING TRIBUTES AS MAN IS CHARGED

A father of two and an “amazing” mother were among three cyclists struck by a car in a devastating early-morning collision in Kent. Now their families have shared emotional tributes as a 22-year-old man faces serious charges.

Two cyclists have died after a car crashed into a group of riders in a village near Gravesend, Kent, leaving their families devastated.

Steven Anscomb and Natasha Lewis were cycling along Sole Street in Cobham shortly before 7:50 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, when they were struck by a white Ford Focus.

Emergency services rushed to the scene near the junction with Round Street, but both Steven and Natasha were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries described as minor.

“HE NEVER CAME HOME”

Steven, a devoted husband and father of two, had been preparing for a major cycling trip to Amsterdam.

His family said Sunday was supposed to be his final ride before that journey.

Instead, he never returned home.

In a heartbreaking tribute, Steven’s wife Fiona and daughters Liberty and Imogen described him as a kind, caring and hardworking husband, father and friend.

They said he would be “so very deeply missed” by everyone who knew him.

The family added that he had been “robbed of the special times of life” and ended their tribute with a simple message:

“We love you forever Steve.”

“MY MUM WAS ONE OF A KIND”

Natasha Lewis was also remembered with overwhelming love by her daughter, Hermione.

Her family described Natasha as a strong, thoughtful and incredibly health-conscious woman who loved exercise.

Hermione said she was grateful to have had Natasha as her mother, while mourning the years and experiences her mum should still have had ahead of her.

“Mum, I love you so much,” she said in her emotional tribute.

22-YEAR-OLD MAN CHARGED

A 22-year-old man, Aaron Turner, from Higham, has since been charged in connection with the collision.

He faces two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, as well as charges of failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision and possession of a Class C drug.

Turner was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court.

A 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman who were also arrested have since been released on bail.

POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate exactly what happened.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle or cyclists shortly beforehand, or captured relevant footage on a dashcam or CCTV to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing.

For the families of Steven and Natasha, however, the tragedy has already left an immeasurable void — two lives remembered not simply for how they were lost, but for the people they were to those who loved them.
