KIRSTIE ALLSOPP GIVES EMOTIONAL HEALTH UPDATE AFTER HORROR BEACH FALL — “MY LEG LOOKS LIKE I’VE BEEN BITTEN BY A SHARK”

The TV presenter has revealed she is slowly recovering after being airlifted to hospital and undergoing emergency surgery following a terrifying fall during her birthday celebrations.

Kirstie Allsopp has given fans an emotional update on her recovery, just over a week after a painful accident left her needing emergency surgery.

The 55-year-old Location, Location, Location presenter slipped on a muddy patch while walking along a steep path from Welcombe Mouth beach in Devon during a family birthday outing.

Her son Oscar, 18, ran for help, while RNLI Bude Lifeboat paramedics and the Cornwall Air Ambulance helped locate and transport her to hospital.

A BIRTHDAY TRIP THAT ENDED IN AN EMERGENCY

Allsopp had been celebrating her birthday with her family at Meadowgate, the family’s Devon home.

The annual tradition usually involves a picnic on the beach, a swim and a walk back for cake.

But this year’s celebration suddenly took a frightening turn.

After slipping on the muddy path, Allsopp suffered a serious leg injury and was eventually airlifted to hospital.

She later shared photographs showing herself in an ambulance with cuts to her face and a breathing tube, as well as an X-ray of her injured leg.

Doctors at Barnstaple Hospital operated on her leg.

Allsopp later said she felt “very, very lucky” that rescuers were able to reach her and get her to hospital so quickly.

“ONE WEEK AND ONE DAY AFTER THE SURGERY”

Now, she has revealed that there are signs of progress.

Sharing an update with her followers, Allsopp said that one week and one day after surgery, she was beginning to regain feeling in her toes and along her leg.

She thanked everyone who had helped her and sent messages of support.

The presenter also admitted that the experience was teaching her patience and humility.

Her recovery currently involves plenty of rest, with Allsopp saying she is spending much of her time in bed.

Despite the seriousness of her injury, Allsopp has continued to find humor in the situation.

She joked that her injured leg looks as though it had been “bitten by a shark.”

She has also been using a Game Ready cold-compression system to help with her recovery.

And rather than letting the accident completely derail her plans, she revealed that she still intends to film her Christmas show in October.

The production will simply have to adapt.

She plans to present while sitting down with her injured leg supported.

HER SON RAN FOR HELP

One of the most emotional details from the accident was the role played by her son Oscar.

When his mother was injured, the 18-year-old reportedly ran as fast as he could to get help.

That led to the eventual rescue involving RNLI Bude Lifeboat paramedics and Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Allsopp has repeatedly expressed gratitude to the people who came to her aid, as well as the medical staff who treated her.

“LEARNING AND HEALING”

Despite the pain and difficult recovery ahead, Allsopp’s latest update was notably optimistic.

She described herself as “learning and healing” and thanked her supporters for their kindness.

Her Location, Location, Location co-host Phil Spencer also sent her a message of encouragement, telling her to be brave, stay still and allow herself to heal properly.

For now, Allsopp is taking things slowly — resting at home, recovering from surgery and preparing to return to work in a very different way.

A frightening birthday accident may have temporarily slowed her down.

But she clearly isn’t ready to stop.

And if her latest update is anything to go by, Kirstie Allsopp is already looking ahead.
