A SHOCKING DETAIL EMERGED IN THE BABY S CASE — AND IT INVOLVES THE 19-YEAR-OLD BOYFRIEND

A newborn girl was discovered at a Sheffield property just days after she was born. Now, as four adults face a murder trial, one previously unknown detail about the baby’s family has raised even more questions.

A horrifying case in Sheffield has taken another disturbing turn after prosecutors revealed a crucial detail about the identity of Baby S’s father.

The newborn girl was discovered at a property on Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area of Sheffield on August 30, after South Yorkshire Police received a report expressing concern for an infant.

A forensic post-mortem later determined that the baby died from stab wounds.

Four adults have since been charged with murder, while a 15-year-old girl has been charged with perverting the course of justice. All five defendants remain in custody and deny the allegations through the ongoing court process.

But when the case reached court, prosecutors revealed a detail that immediately raised questions about the newborn’s family.

THE BABY’S FATHER IS STILL UNKNOWN

Andrea Skopova, 20, has been identified as Baby S’s mother.

She is also the girlfriend of fellow defendant Peter Horvath Jr., 19.

But despite their relationship, prosecutors told Sheffield Magistrates’ Court that Horvath Jr. is not believed to be the baby’s biological father.

The identity of Baby S’s father remains unknown.

That revelation adds another unanswered question to a case already surrounded by uncertainty.

WHAT POLICE FOUND

When officers attended the Holywell Heights property on August 30, they discovered the newborn in an outbuilding.

The court later heard that Baby S had suffered 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings, with injuries to her face and torso, including both the front and back of her body.

Prosecutors said the baby had been wrapped in a towel and placed inside a blue bag.

The discovery triggered a major investigation involving South Yorkshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service.

The CPS subsequently confirmed that four adults had been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice by allegedly taking steps to conceal the killing of an infant.

Those defendants are:

• Andrea Skopova, 20
• Peter Horvath Jr., 19
• Peter Horvath Sr., 38
• Nina Horvathova, 37

Peter Horvath Sr. and Nina Horvathova are Horvath Jr.’s parents.

A 15-year-old girl, who cannot legally be named, has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

THE FAMILY CONNECTION

The relationships between the defendants make the case particularly difficult to follow.

Skopova is Baby S’s mother.

Horvath Jr. was her boyfriend.

And Horvath Jr. is the son of Peter Horvath Sr. and Nina Horvathova.

Yet, according to the prosecution, Horvath Jr. is not believed to be Baby S’s father.

For now, the baby’s biological father remains unidentified.

The court has not established who was responsible for the newborn’s death. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

FOUR ADULTS WILL FACE TRIAL

The five defendants appeared together at Sheffield Crown Court on September 3.

The hearing was emotional, with Skopova and the teenage defendant reportedly crying throughout proceedings.

Judge Sarah Wright set a provisional trial date for April 12, 2027.

The trial is expected to last between six and seven weeks.

All five defendants were remanded in custody, with their next hearing scheduled for October 2, 2026.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of murder but remain on bail.

POLICE WARN AGAINST ONLINE SPECULATION

South Yorkshire Police Detective Chief Inspector Tom Woodward described the investigation as complex and urged the public not to speculate about the case online.

The Crown Prosecution Service also issued a warning, emphasizing that the proceedings are active and that all defendants have the right to a fair trial.

That warning is particularly important in a case that has generated intense public attention.

For now, many questions remain unanswered — including the identity of Baby S’s biological father and exactly what happened inside the Sheffield property before police arrived.
