EVEN THE POLICE COULDN’T BELIEVE IT — ONE SHOCKING DETAIL ABOUT THE SHEFFIELD BABY CASE HAS LEFT PEOPLE STUNNED

Four adults have been charged with murder after newborn Baby S was found dead in Sheffield. But as the case reached court, investigators revealed a deeply unsettling detail about the baby’s family that raised even more questions.

The case surrounding the death of a newborn girl in Sheffield has taken another disturbing turn after prosecutors revealed that one of the most basic details about the baby’s family remains unknown.

Baby S was found dead at a property in the Wincobank area of Sheffield on August 30 after police were called following concerns about the safety of an infant.

A post-mortem examination later found that the newborn had suffered 33 wounds from 15 separate stabbings, according to evidence presented in court.

Four adults have since been charged with murder.

They are Andrea Skopova, 20, the baby’s mother; her boyfriend Peter Horvath Jr, 19; and his parents, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37.

All four also face charges relating to causing or allowing the death of a child and allegedly attempting to conceal what happened.

BUT THEN PROSECUTORS REVEALED SOMETHING NOBODY EXPECTED

Peter Horvath Jr was Skopova’s boyfriend.

But prosecutors told the court that he is not believed to be Baby S’s biological father.

In fact, the baby’s father remains unknown.

That revelation has added another unanswered question to an already deeply disturbing investigation.

The court heard that Skopova had given birth to Baby S, who was born at around 37 weeks.

But investigators have not established the identity of the baby’s father.

And despite Horvath Jr being among those accused in the case, prosecutors specifically said he was not believed to be the father.

FIVE PEOPLE NOW FACE CHARGES

Alongside the four adults, a 15-year-old girl has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Because of her age, she cannot be legally identified.

The four adults have been remanded in custody, while the teenager has been placed in youth custody.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, were also arrested on suspicion of murder but remain on bail.

THE CASE WILL GO TO TRIAL NEXT YEAR

A judge has set the murder trial for April 12, 2027, with proceedings expected to last between six and seven weeks.

The defendants are due to return to court on October 2.

South Yorkshire Police have urged the public not to speculate or share unverified information online while the investigation and legal proceedings continue.

For investigators, the case remains complex.
