Farmer Ruth, a familiar face to fans of Cannon Hall Farm, is facing an incredibly difficult period after her husband, Dave, was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer.

Dave is currently undergoing intensive treatment, including daily chemotherapy and radiotherapy, while Ruth and their two sons support him through the devastating diagnosis.

The news was shared with the Cannon Hall Farm community as supporters rallied around Ruth and her family.

A fundraising campaign was launched to help ease some of the pressures facing the family and allow them to concentrate on spending precious time together.

The fundraiser explains that the money will be available for Ruth and her family to use in whatever way helps them most during the months ahead.

As of the latest available update, the campaign had raised £19,843 from more than 1,000 donations, against a £24,000 target.

 AN OVERWHELMING WAVE OF SUPPORT

The response from supporters has been substantial, with donations, messages and words of encouragement pouring in for the family.

Ruth later thanked fans for their support in an Instagram video, acknowledging the many comments and donations that followed the news of Dave’s diagnosis.

The fundraising appeal also stresses that people do not need to make large donations. Every contribution, share and message is intended as a way for the wider Cannon Hall Farm community to show its support.
