A 3-YEAR-OLD VANISHED. 1,300 PEOPLE SEARCHED. THEN THE POND GAVE UP ITS ANSWER.

Noah Woods disappeared in broad daylight after leaving a playground in Brantham.

For more than 24 hours, thousands of eyes searched the village and surrounding areas, hoping desperately for the little boy to be found alive.

Then specialist divers entered Decoy Pond.

A child’s body was recovered.

Police have now formally confirmed the devastating identity:

Three-year-old Noah Woods.

Noah disappeared at around 2:37 p.m. on September 15, after becoming separated from a relative. CCTV showed him running down an alleyway before disappearing from sight.

The response quickly grew into a huge search operation involving police officers, specialist search teams, dogs, helicopters, firefighters, coastguard crews, volunteers and Metropolitan Police divers.

Around 1,300 members of the public joined the search.

They searched streets.

They searched fields.

They searched waterways.

They kept looking because they hoped Noah was still alive.

But the search ended at Decoy Pond.

Suffolk Constabulary says Noah’s death is not being treated as suspicious, although the circumstances remain unexplained and further enquiries are continuing for the coroner.

His father, Rhys Woods, described his son as “the sweetest and most innocent little boy.”

The playground where Noah was last seen has now become a place of mourning, with flowers, toys and messages left by a grieving community.

They were searching for a missing little boy. They found a tragedy instead.
