BEVERLEY CALLARD SHARES HEARTBREAKING HEALTH UPDATE AMID CANCER BATTLE: ‘IT’S NOT GREAT NEWS’

Beverley Callard has shared a worrying new health update as she continues her battle with breast cancer, revealing that doctors have discovered severe inflammation in the upper part of her stomach.

The former Coronation Street star, 69, opened up about her latest hospital visit in an emotional update to fans, explaining that she has undergone further tests after struggling with persistent nausea.

Doctors examined her oesophagus and stomach and, while she received some reassuring news, they also discovered significant inflammation in the upper part of her stomach.

Beverley revealed that several biopsies have now been taken to determine what is causing the inflammation.

Speaking to her followers, Beverley explained that her oesophagus was clear but doctors had found that her upper stomach was “really, badly inflamed.”

The actress said the medical team had taken several tissue samples and that she was now waiting for the results.

While biopsy results can sometimes take many weeks, Beverley said doctors told her that the findings in her case should be passed to her surgeon and oncologist in around a week.

She admitted the discovery was worrying but said she was also relieved to finally have an explanation for the nausea that has been troubling her.

“Obviously it’s not great news,” Beverley said, while explaining that at least she now knew there was a medical reason for how she had been feeling.

‘I’M A BIT FED UP’

During the candid video, Beverley also joked about feeling “brain dead” while trying to remember the details of her hospital procedures.

She praised the hospital staff for their care before explaining how difficult the ongoing nausea had become.

The actress said she was “a bit fed up” but stressed that she was okay.

Her biggest wish now is to move beyond the constant medical appointments and return to something resembling normal life.

“I just want to crack on with real life again,” she told fans.

BEVERLEY’S CANCER BATTLE

Beverley revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald on Coronation Street, subsequently underwent surgery and radiotherapy.

She has continued to share updates about her recovery with followers, including her struggles with fatigue and nausea.

Doctors had previously referred her to a stomach specialist after concerns that something was not quite right.

Beverley said she had also been encouraged to slow down and rest more during her recovery, although she admitted that taking things easy has been difficult for her.

She has already returned to acting and has spoken about how keeping her mind occupied helps her cope with the uncertainty surrounding her health.
