TWO WOMEN NAMED DANIELLE BELL VANISHED 24 YEARS APART — THEIR FAMILIES ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS
Two women with the same name. Two separate disappearances. And nearly a quarter of a century between them.
The cases of Danielle Bell, 43, from Kansas City, Missouri, and Danielle Bell, 14, from Cantonment, Florida, have drawn renewed attention after both families continued searching for answers.
There is currently no known connection between the two cases. But the unusual coincidence has brought fresh attention to two families who have spent years living without knowing what happened to their loved ones.
THE 43-YEAR-OLD DANIELLE BELL
Danielle Bell, 43, was last seen near 26th Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, sometime in 2025.
More than a year later, her family is still searching.
On Saturday, relatives and supporters gathered at Second Baptist Church before splitting into groups and canvassing surrounding neighborhoods. They carried Danielle’s photograph and spoke with people in the community, hoping someone might remember seeing her.
Her brother, Ronelle Bell, said the uncertainty has been especially painful because the family does not know whether Danielle is safe or where she might be.
Kansas City police confirmed that investigators have been assigned to the case.
Family members said some people they spoke with during the search believed they may have seen Danielle in the area.
For now, however, the family still has no confirmed answer about where she is.
25 YEARS SINCE A TEENAGER DISAPPEARED
The other Danielle Bell disappeared in Cantonment, Florida, in September 2001.
She was only 14 years old and a freshman at Tate High School.
Danielle attended a party on September 28, 2001. She was later seen leaving with a man and going to a nearby home.
She was never seen again.
Her family has now reached the 25th anniversary of her disappearance without knowing what happened to her.
Investigators have conducted searches over the years, including a search of a septic tank and the surrounding property in 2010. Danielle’s remains have never been found, and no one has been charged in connection with her disappearance.
According to archived reports, investigators focused on people who may have been among the last to see her. One of them, Alfredo Sanchez Jr., was later sentenced to 45 years in prison for unrelated sex crimes involving a child. He was never charged in Danielle’s disappearance.
“25 YEARS LATER, WE ARE STILL SEARCHING”
On the anniversary of Danielle’s disappearance, her father, Matt Bell, stood beside a mural of his daughter on Pensacola’s Graffiti Bridge.
The mural carried a heartbreaking message:
“25 years later, we are still searching.”
For her family, the passage of time has not made the questions disappear.
They have hired private investigators and are pursuing additional possible search locations. The family is also offering a reward for information that could lead to finding Danielle.
Her father said the hardest part is knowing how much of his daughter’s life the family has missed — birthdays, graduations, relationships, marriage and children.
All these years later, he said the main thing he wants is simply to know where Danielle is.
TWO NAMES. TWO CASES. TWO FAMILIES STILL WAITING.
The striking similarity between the two disappearances has sparked renewed public interest.
But despite the shared name, the cases occurred in different states, 24 years apart, and authorities have not indicated that they are connected.
One Danielle was a teenager who vanished after a party in Florida in 2001.
The other is a 43-year-old woman who disappeared in Kansas City in 2025.
Both families are still waiting for answers.
And in both cases, someone may know something that could finally help explain what happened.
