4-YEAR-OLD VIVIAN SAVELLA DIES IN HEARTBREAKING TRAGEDY HOURS AFTER CUSTODY HEARING

A four-year-old Houston girl who was supposed to go home with her father after a custody hearing never made it there.

Instead, Vivian Savella was found fatally wounded inside a west Houston home on September 29, shortly after a family-court hearing involving her parents.

Her mother, 35-year-old Cibelle Savella, was also found critically injured and later died at a hospital.

Houston police are investigating the case as an apparent murder-suicide.

Earlier that day, Vivian’s parents appeared in family court as part of their ongoing custody dispute.

According to court documents reported by local media, a judge granted Vivian’s father, Aaron Savella, temporary primary custody, including the exclusive right to determine where his daughter would live and make decisions concerning her education and medical care.

The mother was permitted to see Vivian only through continuously supervised visitation.

According to a statement released by Vivian’s family through an attorney, Aaron had followed the court process and was expecting his daughter to return to him that evening.

She never did.

“Our family is devastated,” the family said, describing Vivian as a child who was “loved without limit.”

Houston police received a call shortly before 6 p.m. about a shooting at a home in west Houston.

Police said Vivian and her mother were found on the home’s third floor.

Vivian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her mother was transported to a hospital with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. She initially survived the shooting but was pronounced dead the following day, according to Houston police.

Vivian’s stepfather and a babysitter were also inside the home. They reportedly heard the gunshots and went upstairs.

Police have not indicated that either person was involved in the shooting.

A CUSTODY DECISION HAD COME JUST HOURS EARLIER

The timing of the tragedy has drawn significant attention because the custody ruling had been issued earlier the same day.

The court order changed the parents’ previous arrangement, giving Aaron temporary exclusive authority over Vivian’s primary residence and certain major decisions.

The mother was restricted to supervised contact with her daughter.

The father’s attorney also said the newly issued order did not specify exactly how the physical custody exchange should take place.

Because the ruling had only just been made, the agency expected to supervise future visits reportedly had not yet been notified.

However, authorities have not established that the custody ruling itself was the cause of the shooting. Investigators continue examining what happened between the court hearing and the shooting.

 “LOVED WITHOUT LIMIT”

For Vivian’s family, the legal dispute has now been eclipsed by the loss of a little girl.

Her father and relatives described her as deeply loved by her family and by everyone whose life she touched.

In their statement, they said:

“There are no words for what has been taken from us.”

They asked the public to remember Vivian as a four-year-old child rather than simply as the center of a tragic news story.

They also asked for privacy while the family grieves.

A FAMILY LEFT WITH QUESTIONS

The custody case had reportedly been ongoing for some time before the September 29 hearing.

The former couple divorced in 2024, according to reports, and their disagreement over Vivian’s care continued through the family-court system.

The reasons behind the court’s latest restrictions have not been fully explained in public reporting.

That makes it especially important not to assume motives or draw conclusions that investigators and the court have not established.

What is known is that the ruling came hours
