Nancy Guthrie Remains Missing Months After Disappearance as Family Continues to Wait for Answers

TUCSON, Ariz. — Nancy Guthrie remains missing months after authorities believe she was abducted from her Tucson home, leaving her family facing a painful wait for answers.

Guthrie, who was born January 27, 1942, is 84 years old. The FBI continues to list her as a missing person and is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to her recovery or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

Authorities believe Guthrie disappeared from her Catalina Foothills home in the early morning hours of Feb. 1, 2026. She had last been seen safely at home the previous evening.

Investigators have said they believe she was taken against her will.

A Masked Figure at the Door

One of the most significant pieces of evidence publicly released in the investigation is surveillance footage showing a masked individual outside Guthrie’s home.

The FBI said the person was wearing a ski mask, gloves and a backpack. Authorities also said the individual appeared to have a firearm and was seen tampering with Guthrie’s doorbell camera.

In one video, the person approaches the front door and raises a gloved hand toward the security camera. In another, the individual appears to use vegetation to obstruct the camera’s view.

Investigators later learned that the same person may have appeared at Guthrie’s home before the night she disappeared, according to sources familiar with the investigation. That possibility raised additional questions about whether the person had been watching or studying the property beforehand.

Yet authorities have not publicly identified that person as a suspect.

Months of Searching — But No Sign of Nancy

Despite extensive investigative efforts, Nancy Guthrie has not been found.

The case has involved local and federal investigators, searches, surveillance reviews and forensic analysis. Authorities have also pursued information from the public in an effort to determine what happened after Guthrie disappeared.

The FBI says Guthrie is considered a vulnerable adult. She has difficulty walking, has a pacemaker and requires daily medication for a heart condition.

Those circumstances have added urgency to the search.

But months into the investigation, the central question remains unanswered:

Where is Nancy Guthrie?

Ransom Messages Added to the Mystery

The investigation has also involved several messages claiming to be connected to a kidnapping.

Authorities eventually determined that three kidnapping-related c
