SIX-YEAR-OLD HARRISON’S FINAL BIKE RIDE ENDS IN HEARTBREAKING TRAGEDY
A six-year-old boy who simply wanted to go for a bike ride after dinner has been remembered by his family as a bright, cheeky child whose personality could light up every room.
Harrison Glynne Jones was just six years old when he asked his parents if he could go out for a bike ride after dinner.
It was an ordinary request from a young boy who simply wanted to enjoy some time outside.
But within moments, his family’s life was changed forever.
Harrison was involved in a collision with a van near his home in Llanfairfechan, North Wales, on the evening of October 1.
Emergency services rushed to Mill Road shortly after 5pm following reports of a collision involving a child and a white Ford Transit tipper.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death has left his parents, sisters and wider family facing an unimaginable loss.
“A PERSONALITY THAT COULD LIGHT UP A ROOM”
Harrison’s family have asked people to remember him not for the tragedy that took his life, but for the happy, energetic little boy he was.
They described him as a “cheeky chappy” who was “full of character,” with a personality capable of lighting up a room.
His parents, Kayleigh and Daryl, are now mourning alongside Harrison’s sisters, Sienna, nine, and Eira, 16.
For them, the loss is impossible to put into words.
Everyday memories that once seemed ordinary — family conversations, laughter and Harrison asking to go outside for a bike ride — have taken on a completely different meaning.
His family have shared a simple message that captures the depth of their grief:
“Forever loved, forever missed, forever 6.”
A COMMUNITY LEFT HEARTBROKEN
The tragedy has also deeply affected the local community in Llanfairfechan.
Friends, relatives and members of the public have rallied around Harrison’s family as they try to cope with the days and weeks following his death.
A fundraising campaign was launched to support the family during the difficult period, with donations quickly showing the level of sympathy and support from people who knew Harrison and others who were simply moved by his story.
For those who knew him, Harrison was much more than a name in a tragic news story.
He was a son, a little brother and a much-loved child whose life was only just beginning.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
North Wales Police launched an investigation following the collision.
A 39-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was later released under investigation while enquiries continued.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have relevant information or dashcam footage to come forward.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and no assumption should be made about responsibility while the enquiries continue.
A FINAL BIKE RIDE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ORDINARY
For Harrison’s family, the hardest part may be knowing how ordinary the evening began.
He had simply wanted to go for a bike ride after dinner.
There was no indication that the short outing would become the final moments of his young life.
Now, instead of watching Harrison grow older, his family are left with photographs, memories and the stories of the little boy they loved.
They hope those memories will ensure that Harrison is remembered for the joy he brought to others — his character, his energy and the way he could brighten a room.
At just six years old, Harrison had already made an impression on the people around him.
And although his life was heartbreakingly short, his family say the love surrounding him will remain.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever six.
