Jayda’s aunt, Kellie Carter-Bell, described her niece as a gentle soul with a heart of gold who would do anything to help others.

The family has also raised concerns about whether earlier warnings about Jayda’s safety were taken seriously. Carter-Bell told the ABC that relatives had contacted police around six weeks before Jayda’s death because they feared for her welfare.
