SEARCH CONTINUES: TWO YEARS SINCE THE DISAPPEARANCE OF EMMA BAUM

More than two years have passed since 25-year-old Emma Baum vanished from Gary, Indiana, leaving her family desperate for answers. Emma was nine months pregnant and just days away from giving birth to her fourth child when she disappeared on October 10, 2024. She was last seen being dropped off on Connecticut Street in Gary, where relatives believe she was visiting her estranged boyfriend, the father of her unborn baby. Having no working cell phone at the time, she had planned to activate one that same day, but all contact ceased immediately.

As time passed, growing worry prompted her family to file a missing-person report on October 28th, eighteen days after her disappearance. Law enforcement agencies, including the Gary Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, have conducted extensive searches using K9 teams across various locations, including homes, apartments, and vehicles. While the estranged boyfriend was questioned and later taken into custody on an unrelated matter, no official charges have been filed regarding Emma’s disappearance, and her family remains skeptical of his account.

Her family has also expressed frustration that a Silver Alert was never issued, arguing that her advanced pregnancy clearly made her an endangered missing adult under Indiana guidelines. Two years later, both Emma and her unborn child remain missing. Her family continues their painful search, demanding accountability and answers about what transpired that October afternoon.
