Parents’ Heartbreaking Tribute to Baby Girl Angel After Losing Her to Rare Genetic Condition — As They Urge Others to Speak Out About Infant Loss
They had dreamed of a lifetime with their daughter, but Judy and Peter’s hopes were shattered when their beloved baby girl, Angel Luong, was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a serious genetic condition that can severely affect a baby’s development and survival.
On December 11, Judy shared the heartbreaking news of Angel’s passing, along with a message she hoped other grieving families would hear: a baby’s life should never be treated as though it never happened.

“I am posting this not because of your sympathy,” she wrote, explaining that families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth or the loss of a baby should feel able to talk about their grief rather than keep it hidden.
“We wanted to celebrate our daughter’s existence… even though it was cut short, we want her to know that she will always be in our memories.”
Her words captured the love that remained despite their devastating loss: “Rest in Peace our beautiful daughter ~Angel~. We all love you.”

Wanting to help Judy and Peter through this painful time, Wendy Wong and her friend Kiet Phung launched a fundraiser to cover Angel’s cremation and provide a peaceful resting place for their little girl. They hoped to raise enough before Christmas, asking the public for donations of any amount and support in sharing Angel’s story.
For her parents, Angel was more than a diagnosis or a brief chapter in their lives. She was their daughter, the child they had longed for, and a little girl whose place in their family could never be taken away.
Her life was short, but her story deserves to live on.
